Coach of Ms. Arantxa Sanchis a Semi-Finalist in the World Ladies U 21 Snooker Tournament 2007 (Goa, India) and India Number 1 in the U 21 category. Amarnath is a renowned Billiards and Snooker player having played on the PRO circuit from 1996 to 2000 and for over four decades in the Indian circuit. He has been held the No 3 position amongst Seniors in Snooker in India. He has been the Maharashtra No 1/ 2 for a number of years.

He has been into Coaching in Snooker and Billiards for the past 20 years or so in Mumbai/Pune. Notable amongst his students are the current Seniors Snooker No1 in India – Aditya Mehta, Hemu Adani and Arantxa Sanchis. He has also advised many stalwarts in the past. His highest break in Snooker was 141 and in Billiards 551.

Amarnath is known for his soft touch cueing action which is a treat to watch. He has defeated Shyam Shroff from India, Bux from Pakistan and many others. Rex Williams and Bob Close of UK found him to have the best cueing among the Indians of his time. He has also beaten David Taylor former World Snooker No 1 in an exhibition match.

He is currently based in Pune, Maharashtra and coaches young and experienced cueists at the PYC Gymkhana.
